The following is a statement from Canada Post relating to the COVID-19 outbreak. Directworx is monitoring this situation as it develops, with the health and safety of our customers and staff as our top priority.

Dear Customer,

As the situation caused by the coronavirus (COVID-19) continues to evolve, we recognize that our customers have questions and concerns about delivery over this period. We would like to share the steps we are taking in response to this ongoing situation.

In January, we activated the initial stage of our pandemic plan, which ensures there is a focused effort on continuously evaluating the situation around COVID-19. As the situation evolved, so has the activation of the various phases of our plan.

As part of our pandemic plan, a dedicated team is regularly reviewing developments, monitoring staffing levels and responding to immediate issues and concerns. As circumstances change, we are prepared to quickly adjust and implement our contingencies while following the direction of the public health authorities.

We are also focused on our employees and keeping them safe. Following the guidance of the Public Health Agency of Canada, we are ensuring they know and practice the safety protocols that will help protect them, which will also help minimize the impact to our operations. We are communicating regularly with our employees ensuring that they have the necessary facts and tools to deal with the situation as it continuously evolves across the country.

When it comes to the safety of handling mail, the World Health Organization advises that all incoming mail and packages are safe to handle. We are in constant contact with our international partners and are continuing to safely accept international items.

We would like to assure you that Canada Post is prepared to adjust our operations to deal with the fluid situation. Our contingency plans are reviewed, exercised and ready to be implemented. As the situation around COVID-19 continues and evolves, please know that we will endeavour to continue to process and deliver mail across Canada over this period while the priority remains the safety of our employees.

Thank you.
